English For Business And Entrepreneurship (Coursera)

 BEFORE WE BEGIN...

Coursera is a website that provides you an online course from different universities throughout the world. Not only courses, but Coursera also provides degrees and certificates. You can enroll and learn from the videos, reading, and quiz. You can also pick any kinds of different subjects from courses such as arts and humanities, language learning, business, etc.

Of course like any other website, Coursera has an advantage and disadvantage. The advantage is you can get many resources and many subjects straight from universities and also, you can get a certificate as well once you're done with the course. The disadvantage is that not all courses are free, so you need to pay at least 10 bucks for certain courses.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The course that I enroll and study recently is English for Business and Entrepreneurship.

 WEEK 1: Becoming an entrepreneur

 a. What is entrepreneurship?

 b. Why entrepreneurship?

 c. Products

 d. Startups

WEEK 2: Identifying

a. Market research

b. Surveys

c. Data

WEEK 3: Creating a Business Plan I

a. Why Write Business Plans?
b. Marketing

WEEK 4: Creating a Business Plan II

a. Financials

WEEK 5: Attracting Investors and Obtaining Financial Support

a. Financing a business

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE/IMPRESSION

My first impression of doing this course was mindblown. For example, at first in the week 1 section, I thought we're starting from learning basic English vocabulary for business, it's not. Turns out, the first unit is becoming an entrepreneur; teaching you basic entrepreneurship, products, the difference between an entrepreneur and a small business owner, we got to read about some of the successful entrepreneurs. In the English section, you get to learn a comparative structure, correlative connectors, and sentence connectors. Surely, not only the basic entrepreneurship that you will learn, but you will also learn how to make a brief business plan, how to financing a business, and products.

Duolingo First Impression

For those who don't know about Duolingo, basically, Duolingo is a language learning website and mobile app with a green owl as a mascot. The app and the website are accessible without charge, although Duolingo also offers a premium service for a fee. You can learn throughout the game and instantly graded whether your answers are correct or not. After you finished the game, you get a reward such as virtual coins, unlock a new level, and you will become fluent as you master new words, phrases, and grammar.     In Duolingo, I learned Spanish because when I first watch a sketch comedy in Spanish, it's funnier in Spanish instead in English. With that said, I was determined to learn Spanish as my third language and as a new experience for language learning. The training that we'll receive is translating, speaking, and listening. My first impression of using this app is convenient and easy to use. You don't have to tight to schedule to access and learn, you just si...
